Indus Valley Civilization Why We Defend Them By Zemira Eli Natan

The Indus  Valley  Civilization  has been archaeologically proven to be approximately 9,500 years old.  This Civilization had its own writing system  that to this very day  cannot be deciphered.  Some say this writing is ancient Sanskrit , others dispute that saying the writing is close to cuneiform.  The Indus Valley Civilization  contains Harappan  Civilization which is the predecessor  of the Civilization of Mohenjo- Daro.  The Harappan Civilization is believed to have arisen at the same time as the Mesopotamian Civilization dating from  about 2600 B.C, E  -2500 B.C.E.  These ancient civilizations are located in what is now the Southeast region of Pakistan and contains many ancient temples and historical places.  The archaeological evidence  is currently housed in the  National Museum of New Delhi and was first identified at Harappa in 1921.  Evidence of Mohenjo-daro emerged after the Harappan civilization  and artifacts were discovered in 1922 near the Indus River in Sindh, Pakistan.  This civilization is described to have  had about 100 towns and villages  as compared to the Harappan  which had sophisticated underground water system much like those in Israel  and even had lavatories.  This is what is commonly known in the western world , but evidence suggests otherwise.  Farming settlements in these civilizations existed between 5500
B. C. E - 4000 B. C. E.  First  signs of urbanization existed by 3000 B. C. E.  The Indus Valley Civilization was at is peak  between 2500 -2000 B.C. E.  which showed an increased number of thriving towns and cities were vast in size.   The Civilization of Mohenjo-Daro had intricate cities formed in a grid like pattern. What must  be understood is that contrary to popular opinion  the cradle of the world did not begin in ancient Sumer.  Evidence suggests clearly  that the Indus Valley civilization was the actual cradle of the world which is clearly  shown in the Rig Veda.  Please  enjoy the following photos and links  to articles and videos which show these magnificent civilizations, how they emerged , writing system and artifacts, also some modern photos of the descendant peoples of these regions.  By watching them  you can get a clear idea of why these civilizations must be preserved.  As an added motivation  our own Advocate Veerji Kolhi is a direct descendant of the Civilization of Mohenjo-Daro and continues to protect these regions today .

When we ask the question why we MUST defend them  one answer can be linked to this history

It is not well known  in the West.  If you asked the average citizen anywhere in the west about Bonded Labor  not one could answer that they do.  If we were to ask the question why are Muslims  oppressing  people of other religions.  We can find our answer by reading the Qur'An.  I recommend everyone to do it and understand  exactly what is their motivation from their own sources.

Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) is the main Indian religion, but it is also a deep philosophy of non duality (Advaita) containing freedom choice in practices to reach freedom from ego

Ego is in the inherent nature of Jiva(Embodied Soul).  The word Ego is used to convey the action that originate from "I" ness of the jiva.

Ego means considering oneself to be distinct from others and Brahman (God in his aspect as the Creator of the universe) or G-d, due to the physical body or due to the sanskars (Subconscious impressions) in various centres of the Lingadeha(Subtle Body).

In general, we can define ego as pride related to 'me', 'mine' 'for myself'.

Thoughts such as 'my body and mind, 'my intellect', 'my life', 'my wealth', 'my wife', 'my children, 'I should obtain happiness', etc. arise from ego alone.

'When we peel an onion, all that we get are only the peels and nothing at the core.  Similarly, we will not find an object called "I", Eventually what remains is Atma-Chaitanya.( Divine Consciousness).

Synonyms for the Word Ego on the Psychological Level

Ahankar (Ego)
Ahambhav (Awareness of the Self)
Pride
Conceit
The "I"-ness

Types of Ego

G-d's Ego:  The word Ankhar is derived from the words Aham (Ego) and Akar (Form).  When the form dissolves, only ego remains.  At that time "I"-ness manifests without dvait (Duality), that is only Brahman (G-d) exists. "I"-ness that is devoid of Ego itself is Brahman or G-d.

Man's Ego- Already defined

Pure Ego- Considering oneself to be distinct from Brahman, that is, having awareness of the self through dvait.
Having Awareness only of the existence.
Having a bhav (Spiritual Emotion) that 'I belong to others and others are mine'
Pure Ego remains until the existence of the physical body.

Impure Ego:  When the mind, chitta, intellect and ego are created, and when their creation attains a peak, we can assume that the antahakarana (The inner sense organs consisting of the conscious mind).subconscious mind, intellect and ego) has fully developed.  All activities for obtaining worldly happiness take place with the help of ego.  With regard to intellect and ego in the Kaliyug (Era of Strife), we can say that complete development of intellect implies considering ourself as the body (Having body-awareness),  For obtaining physical pleasures, the height of wisdom used is intellect.  Ego refers to complete development of the intellect- H.H Kane Maharaj Narayangaon, District Pune, Maharashtra.

Awareness of the existence due to the physical body or due to sanskars in the centers of the lingadeha like temperamental characteristics, desires , likes and dislikes , etc. is termed as impure ego.  Depending on the thoughts and emotions, this ego can be either satvik (Sattva-predominant), rajasik (Raja-predominant) or tamasik (Tama-predominant). These three types of ego are known as  ahamtraya or trividha aham.

Tamasik Ego-  Taking self credit  is known as bhutadi or tamasik ego.

Rajasik Ego-  Constantly striving for happiness is called taijas or rajasik ego.

Satvik Ego:  Ego related to sacrifice is called vaikrut or satvik ego.
